3rd/4th Grade Advent Calendar

3rd/4th grade practiced Winter vocabulary by creating an Advent Calendar.

Some of the vocabulary we practiced throughout the month were...snowman, snowflake, hot cocoa, gifts/presents, reindeer, sled, nativity scene, ice skating, jacket / scarves, Christmas tree, fireplace, bells.
  As we created our calendars, everybody took part in each calendar.  
We used elements of drawings, origami, and collage  to create them. 
As each calendar had the artwork of each student, we discussed the importance of Community and the value of sharing and teamwork to create a more exciting and diverse work of art.

6B Film session: The Christmas Chronicles and Q & A's activity

Hi everyone, again:

Last week and a half before Christmas, we watched a movie, The Christmas Chronicles, 2018, by Clay Kaytis. In short, it's a movie that gives a message of friendship and solid values and is trepidant and fun, too.

After the movie, we did a Questions & Answers to understand better its plot.

2A. A Christmas postcard

Hi everyone, again:

This is the last post of the year. We just want to wish you a Merry Christmas, and hope you have fun while looking this blog next to your children.

Last day before holidays, we made our own Christmas postcard. Each one designed their own copy, showing their taste and style, and having all postcards the wish "Merry Christmas - 2019" on the front.

It was a nice session, and that's why we want to share it with everyone!

6B. Sports Project: Football, Basketball & Athletics - THE END!

Hi everyone, again

We have ended up Sports Project recently. It has been a long project, which had three parts: Football, Basketball and Athletics. We have worked on each sport through a wide range of activities: from videos to a wordsearch or boardgames..., using different language skills.  We have built up our vocabulary and have learned  interesting things that we didn't know of each of these sports.

It has been a great experience. Everyone in class has been willing to participate and help at every moment, and we do appreciate it

3rd Graders In the Christmas mood.

With the  3rd graders we are preparing Christmas  presents to take home,    We are having a nice time cutting, painting sticking and colouring.  and of course asking for the material in English.  We use questions like What are you drawing and requests as ;I would like a brush, I would like a candle , I would like some glue , I would like some paper etc         

2nd graders Preparing surprises !

Hello everybody,

We did different activities related with art and making surprises.
Two weeks ago we made a magic flower .  The students had to explain the steps we had to take for a nice result.  So first cut a circle, next  fold  the circle 3 times , then cut a flowerpetal, then unfold the flower, then write a message and decorate the  flower, then fold the petals one by one inwards    ,Last put the flower  carefully in the water.

Surprise!!!!  A good idea for the Christmas dinner ?

And now we are in the Christmas mood  and   preparing some suprises to take home .for Christmas........

Hi everyone,

Here you can watch pictures of a fun activity that we did about Questions & Answers last week.

We had to move around the playground to find a classmate who had done an activity, then he or she had to sign the sheet.

Questions came from a wide range of leisure activities, like: "I slept in a tent", "I slept over at a friend's house", "I went to a movie" and more and more.

We practiced questions using the structure "Have you ever...?"

We have made masks as a fun way to end the project based on wild and farm animals. It has been fun colouring and decorating masks!

Children just had t colour, cut and play with their masks!

3rd graders Guessing game with jobs

Hello everybody !!!

With the 3rd graders we continued with the topic Jobs. We played different games, drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up and watched two videoes about different jobs.
Last week we went to plaza  Clara. The students had to connect a sentence with a job.  For eample: I can help people  This could be a policeman and a nurse.  Or You can get dirty hands......A painter.   So after reading the sentence the  students had to find the job in the park. We had a lot of fun !

p4 Going to the park

Hello everybody.

We are doing many things with P4.  With  P4 B we could finally go to the park as there was no rain.
With both groups we started the topic Family last week and played different games.
We are using sentences like; This is me , This is dad , this is mum,  this is a boy, this is a girl , this is grandpa, this is grandma.

2nd graders What do you want to be when you grow up ?

Hello everybody !

With the 2nd graders we are still working on  the topic jobs. We played a  guessing game game with a policeman and a thief.  One student was the policeman and had to leave the classroom. Then one student stole a ring and another student stole the money. The policeman had to find out who stole the money and the ring.  We mimed different jobs and made a nice drawing about what we want to be when we grow up.

And of course loads of fun !!!

1st Grade / Final Prepositions

We have finished our  project inspired by the book "A Visitor for Bear."

Our final project is a piece of Art that can be used at home to re-enforce the prepositions (in, on, under, next to, and behind) at home.

5th grade - Let's do crazy combinations

Hi everyone,

We have played a boardgame, named Apples to Apples. Junior, that consists of making up a history related to a key word (either a noun, or an adjective, or a verb). It's a fun game that has let us widen up our range of vocabulary. 

Besides that, there's a player who is a judge in each round, he's in charge of picking the best history and saying why he or she does so, which is also great because we can practice statements and questions, and improve our ability of persuasion.

1st grade- Numbers

This week 1st Grade practiced the classic ¨Go Fish¨ card game making pairs with numbers.  Phrases practiced were...
 Do you have a....?
 Yes,  I do.
 No,  I don't.

P4 The witch is cooking the magic soup ........

Hello everybody !

As it was raining we couldn't  go to Plaza Clara to do the activity with p4B I.  But the witch was cooking the soup inside. We played a game while singing  ¨cooking, cooking , cooking the soup !!
There were spiders and leafs and snakes in the soup.
After the game we coloured a picture of a witch cooking a soup.
And some news !!! we have to present you our new teacher Tariro . She is going to help the teachers on the first shift and comes from  Liverpool. We are very happy to work with her !.
