4th graders Food & Drinks Project (to both groups)

 Dear families:

Just a very short entry to update news. This week we have started a new project, both groups together, about food and drinks. It is a project which contains several activites that cover almost every aspect of the language (speaking, reading, listening and writing). So it will be a challenge, but we the teachers are sure they will excel at it!

We'll keep informing you periodically!

Best wishes for everyone!

P5-C Getting into numbers in a fun way!

 Dear families:

Glad to contact you again! In our P5 group we have been deeply focused on numbers lately. We are mastering numbers and learning to do basic maths funnily. The planning we are following is quite similar to the one of first graders, with certain variations. Thus,we are doing a wide variety of activites in which we need to use numbers and to practise other vocabulary already seen, like shapes or animals.

The group is working hard and doing it great! Very proud of them! They are fast-learners! In addition to this main area, we also take care of our listening skills. We do so by watching episodes of our favourite cartoons. Nowadays we are very into The Pink Panther, which is dead fun!

In next entries we will you further information about our classes!

Since then, best wishes for all!

1A - Getting into numbers - Maths in a fun way!

 Dear families:

Here I am again to update news. After the Easter break, we have kept working on the area of numbers and Maths, in English. We are doing a great variety of activities to get into numbers funnily. Let me list some: "Join the dots", in which they join a series of dots in a certain order to make a silouette of an animal they know, the elephant; "Number Puzzle", in which they reinforce vocabulary about shapes as well as doing basic Maths operations; "Adding the dots", in which they roll a dice and make operations with the numbers they get, adding and substracting them alternatively; "Adding 2 sets", in which they get familiar with sets of objects and count and build up new vocabulary at the same time, and "Counting to 10", in which they are introduced to the expression "How many...?" and keep practising basic operations, and more and more.

In addition to that, the late sessions we have been practising listening skills in what is likely the funniest way of doing so: watching episodes of children's favourite cartoons in English. This activity is the reward for them after a well-done task with numbers and colours.

The plan is to continue introducing new contents, like more shapes or adjectives, in connection with numbers for the next few weeks. Anyway, we'll keep you informed about that and other things of interest to you!

See you on the next entry!

5th graders Asking questions

 Hi  all !!

Here is  some news from our  5th graders.

Last class we have been working on making questions about spring and random items.

The students had to guess what the other student created out of bread dough.

But they had to ask at least three questions before guessing the item.

It was fun !!!

2nd graders It's spring !

 Hello everybody  !

Hope you are ejoying spring !!  With the secondgraders we did different activities around this topic.

We painted, and  went to Plaza Clara to hide different  imatges of spring and we had to relate a sentence with a picture :  For example ;

This insect has got  spots,  ( a ladybug),

This animal has got long ears, ( a rabbit)

(This is a delicious fruit   ( strawberry)   etc etc etc.....

One thing is a description of a picture to guess.  Today we made questions .

One student had to create an item of spring out of some bread dough.  The others had to make questions to guess what it was. And create the same figure.

Examples of questions we used  ;  Is it an animal ?  Does it fly ?   Can you eat it ? Is it big ? etc etc.

And of course at the end of the class the students wanted to make a pizza !  It was Fun !!!!

P4 Fly, Fly Butterfly ,

 Hello everybody !!

It's spring !! So we started  with vocabulary of spring.

we drew pictures of flowers , the rainbow , a butterfly  and each student got a butterfly.

The teacher said : Fly to the tree, and the students had to run and  put the butterfly on the tree,   Fly to the house, Fly to the flower,  etc etc.    It was fun !!!
