1B & 1A. Carnival masks! - Some photos!

1st/2nd Grade Carnival Music/Masks

1st and 2nd Grade have been working on masks and listening to classic Carnival music.

 We are listening to typical steel band competitions from London's Notting Hill Carnival,  Samba music from Brazil...and the brass bands, Jazz/ African fused music from Mardi Gras in New Orleans .

Vocabulary..Steel band, Samba Music, Mardi Gras, king, queen, clown, magician, costumes, masks, and feathers.

2nd Grade - I Love You!

2nd Grade made a special craft for their loved ones for Valentine's day. 

After tracing our hands, we decorated them. 

We also talked about this expression.... I   love   you   this  M U CH!! 

1st grade Hearts / Strings of Love

First grade celebrated a little bit of Valentine's by making small hearts for their  loved ones.

 Vocabulary we practiced were.. 

Yarn, string, criss- cross, long, short, pull corner to corner ..and of course hearts! 

3rd Graders. Being creative and a secret Valentine mission !!!

Hello everybody,

We did many things these weeks . Just before Valentine's day we prepared more than 50 Valentine's cards  for our secret mission to hide them in the classroom of  the3rd graders. It was a very exciting adventure. The students made beautiful cards with messagers like ; I love your smile., I love my  class !!! , You are so beautiful . Happy Valentine! , etc etc . And with Carnival we made some masks .
We were very creative and had a lot of fun as well !!!

P4 Celebrating Carnival.......

Hi all !!!

P4 is in the Carnival mood !   We made masks and we painted our faces.

We use sentences like :  Who are you ?  I'm a witch...I'm a cat,   I'm  a princess

To ask for the material needed to decorate the mask we used the sentence : I would like; a blue feather, I would like the glue, I would like.......

6B. My favourite videogame is...

Hi all, again:

Currently we are working on a project about videogames, using laptops at class. The idea is to make a Power Point presentation describing a videogame we love playing it! We have done some research on the Internet to find out further information, like who created it, when or where, and so on

We expect to give you further information as soon as we finish!

5th Getting inspired, making a poster!

Hi all, again:

We have started this new semester seeking for inspiration! We have made a free topic drawing on a poster in pairs, and then we have painted it. The topics chosen have been the war, tennis and football. Then we have written a brief description of its meaning and where we got the inspiration to make it to.

4th graders What will you be ?????? and Carnival

Hello everybody  !!

With 4th graders we did a lot of creative things.  For  Valentine's day we made cards and the students wrote sentences like; I like your smile, you are beautiful, I love you..
Now it's Carnival  ...We made masks and  had to ask for the material with the question  I would like.......

The idea was to make a video using sentences like ; What  will you be???? I will be , A policeman etc.  But the students decided to do a Circus show.  So we used the sentences ; I will be a juggler , I will be a clown , I will be a magician , I will be a dog trainer,I will be an acrobat. we keep you updated.

The purpose is to know better the place where we are and the material we use every day. And we do so through different activities, and putting into practice speaking and writing skills

An exucrsion to Plaça Clarà with P4

Hi all,

With some P4 students we went to Plaça Clarà to find some animals and we had loads of fun! We used sentences like: "Where is the bird...", "Where is the elephant..", "I found the cat!" and many more...

We had a lot of fun while doing the circus activities. We used sentences like: "this is the circus from Olot", "I am a magician and I do magic", "abracadabra, a rabbit!", "We are artists from China" "Hello I am a clown", "I juggle balls", "I have got a red nose", "We put the plate on the stick and walk on the rope"

P4 In the Circus....

Hello everybody

Last weeks we were working om the topic Circus.

We used sentences like:  I'm strong ( for the strong man), I'm walking on a rope . The elephant is big. The elephant is walking on a ball.
And we started to work on prepositions.  Running around the class we were going under the chairs ,  behind the table ,  climbed on the chairs, stand up  on the chair,  jump on the ground , sit down on the chair.
When we coloured the different pictures of the circus we repeated sentences as ; The clown has got a red nose,  the clown has got blue shoes , etc ( green jacket , red shirt)
.We had a lot of fun !!!

1st grade/ Dr. Seuss in the park

We have finished the term, and we will be changing groups next week.
It has been a good time, and I am super happy with our student's progress.

Our last few days together, we reviewed what we have learned since the school year began.
We also went to the park and had story time with Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat.
It is a very classic book, that focuses on rhyming as a form of teaching young readers.
Vocabulary included: play/ day, bump/jump, mat/hat, wish/fish, fall/ball, cake/rake, fan/man, fox/box, bed/ red and so many, many.. more!

1st/3rd Grade- End of Term Books

Students are decorating a compilation of work done this term.

The covers show their favorite animals.

These books contain a variety of the work done including..animals, numbers, colors, verbs, prepositions, clothes, weather, and school supplies.

1st grade - Pen/Pencil Holder

1st grade made pen/pencil holders using recycled bottles and popsicle sticks.

We talked a lot about colors patterns.  As they decorated, students practiced vocabulary such as glue, wood, feathers, stars, and stickers. 

6th Grade - Chinese New Year

Last week we talked about the Chinese New Year. We talked about many symbols representing many words such as moon, gold, home, laugh, cry, soul, think, heaven and character traits such as .. strength, beauty, joy, courage, angry, and kind

3rd Grade - Go Fish

Last week, 3rd grade learned a game called Go Fish.

They did so well, playing while speaking in English.

Phrases/Vocabulary we practiced were:

 Yes, I do./ No, I don't.

Your turn, pairs, and Don't cheat! 

In addition we practiced and reviewed Verbs such as.. climbing, running, swimming, skipping, dancing, skating, and sailing

5th A back to school activity

Hi everyone, again:

I just share with you the most recent activity we have done: A Back from the Winter Holidays.

This consisted of writing three things you did or you didn't during Christmas break from a list of categories, and then sharing your answers with the class.

The activty went very well as led us to build up vocabulary and to speak in English about a set of topics which are known or familiar to us.

2A. A picture of a winter landscape

Hi everyone, again:

I want to share with all you parents the most recent activity we have done: A picture of a winter landscape. We had started such topic before Christma's break and we are still on it. 

List of questions worked at class:

• What can you see in the picture?
• How many people can you see there?
• Is there any animal? Which? 
• What's the weather like in the picture? Why

Suggested answers to boost student's speaking skills:

• I can see a path with trees and grass, and a village at the background. 
• I can see a mother at the right of the picture, wearing a long coat and holding an umbrella, and two little children at the center, playing with leaves on the grass.
• Yes, there is. There is a little dog
• The weather is freezy and windy. It is very cold because they wear winter clothes, and is windy because we can see a lot of leaves flying around.

6B. Back to class! and the "be going to" form

Hi everyone, once more:

It's the end of holidays, and therefore it's time to take back to English. Not only were the Christmas holidays a long break to rest and to get over, but also an opportunity to think about how the course was going on.

We started doing an activity that make us to think about our holidays carefully. An activity that make us give examples of things we had done and things we hadn't done, and places we had visited and what we had done there, and so on.

After that, we did another similar activity, named New Year's Resolutions, to introduce ourselves in the use of the form "Be going to" to talk about plans (and also intentions) in English.

Although it's somehow difficult to start again, both activites went on quite well, and the boys participated on it actively.

3 rdgraders On the catwalk........

Hello everybody,


With the 3rd graders we started the topic fashion... We will play different games and are preparing a catwalk ..so we will walk like real models.
We are using sentences like:This  model comes from The USA  ( Paris etc),  She is wearing a beautiful blue dress, ( black jacket, golden blouse etc )
We arte havin a lot of fun !!

5th/6th Groups Christmas activities

Hi families!

We had a great time planning about Christmas time!

We talked about all the different family activities that can be done during the winter holidays. Students learned how to make origami hearts and created a family  suggestion "pocket" to pass the time during the Christmas vacation. 

Just a few of vocabulary phrases we practiced : ... family pizza night, making hot cocoa together, watching movies/ eating popcorn, set up  Christmas Tree / Nativity scene,  make Christmas cookies.

P4 Are you happy with your toys ????

Hello everybody,

After a long rest we started again. With p4 we are working on the topic toys .
We are singing a song Hello girls , hello boys
Are you happy,happpy,happy with your toys..
With your car  and with your doll

As well we watched the video :  What is it   ...?It's a........( ball, t doll etc)Toys on you tube

Vocabulary: Toys, car bear train, ball blocks ,dinasaur...girl  and boy

sentences : Have you got ?  I've got.....a ball, a train etc

And we are having a lot of fun  playing , dancing and singing along !!!
