P4 group The legend of Saint George
4th grade - Food & Drink
Dear families:
I would like to inform you about the latest news of the activity. We have recently finished a topic around food and drink. We have done a wide range of activities. Not only have we practised vocabulary and basic grammar pills, but also listening and reading skills.
Now that we have widened our range of vocabulary on this area, we can name a wider range of food and drinks, and we can do so by using the basic structures we have learnt: There is / There are and prepositions of place (in, in front of, on, under, next tom behind).
Hoping you are being well, we'll keep you informed!

1B GROUP - Bag of wishes part IV
Hello ! Hello!
Here I share with you the last, but not the least important, part of the project "bag of wishes".
We used to sing this song Healthy x unhealthy food.
The song introduced the topic and remembered us the importance of being healthy and that we can do it choosing what we eat.
We had a great time classifying healthy and unhealthy food. We also created together different kinds of menus according with the 3/4 meals we have during the day.
We enjoyed together these Steve and Maggie episodes Steve and Maggie Steve and Maggie II. Kids have took home the "bag" and you can talk more about it. It was a pleasure to guide these activities learning English and good/ positive habits at the same tame.
Now we keep moving and the next project is acting classes. Kids are happy and exited!
1B group - Bag of wishes part III
Hello again!!!!!
Here I bring news about our project. During 2 weeks we talked about. "How can I be a good student?"
We started learning new vocabulary like:
Eyes watching!
Ears listening!
Legs crossed!
Hands still!
We also had a crossword and of course a song to inspire!
6th grade - Let's make a "six-hand" entry!
Dear families:
This is a special entry, because we, Jan and Aniol, are updating the blog instead of Jordi.
We are going to inform you about the latest news about our activities.
We have discussed on the topic of bullying in the school.
We watched Karate kid and answered a set of questions to stir up the discussion.
Then we took on another project around the meaning of friendship among teenagers.
We watched Stand by me, by Rob Reiner, which is very appropiate. After that we did a set of reading and writing activities.
We have also worked in the topic of food and drinks, not only practising vocabulary but also doing grammar points, like pronouns and prepositions of place.
We hope you have enjoyed reading our activities.

Dear families:
Just a very short entry to update news. This week we have started a new project, both groups together, about food and drinks. It is a project which contains several activites that cover almost every aspect of the language (speaking, reading, listening and writing). So it will be a challenge, but we the teachers are sure they will excel at it!
We'll keep informing you periodically!
Best wishes for everyone!

P5-C Getting into numbers in a fun way!
Dear families:
Glad to contact you again! In our P5 group we have been deeply focused on numbers lately. We are mastering numbers and learning to do basic maths funnily. The planning we are following is quite similar to the one of first graders, with certain variations. Thus,we are doing a wide variety of activites in which we need to use numbers and to practise other vocabulary already seen, like shapes or animals.
The group is working hard and doing it great! Very proud of them! They are fast-learners! In addition to this main area, we also take care of our listening skills. We do so by watching episodes of our favourite cartoons. Nowadays we are very into The Pink Panther, which is dead fun!
In next entries we will you further information about our classes!
Since then, best wishes for all!

1A - Getting into numbers - Maths in a fun way!
Dear families:
Here I am again to update news. After the Easter break, we have kept working on the area of numbers and Maths, in English. We are doing a great variety of activities to get into numbers funnily. Let me list some: "Join the dots", in which they join a series of dots in a certain order to make a silouette of an animal they know, the elephant; "Number Puzzle", in which they reinforce vocabulary about shapes as well as doing basic Maths operations; "Adding the dots", in which they roll a dice and make operations with the numbers they get, adding and substracting them alternatively; "Adding 2 sets", in which they get familiar with sets of objects and count and build up new vocabulary at the same time, and "Counting to 10", in which they are introduced to the expression "How many...?" and keep practising basic operations, and more and more.
In addition to that, the late sessions we have been practising listening skills in what is likely the funniest way of doing so: watching episodes of children's favourite cartoons in English. This activity is the reward for them after a well-done task with numbers and colours.
The plan is to continue introducing new contents, like more shapes or adjectives, in connection with numbers for the next few weeks. Anyway, we'll keep you informed about that and other things of interest to you!
See you on the next entry!
Byeeee!

5th graders Asking questions
Hi all !!
Here is some news from our 5th graders.
Last class we have been working on making questions about spring and random items.
The students had to guess what the other student created out of bread dough.
But they had to ask at least three questions before guessing the item.
It was fun !!!
2nd graders It's spring !
Hello everybody !
Hope you are ejoying spring !! With the secondgraders we did different activities around this topic.
We painted, and went to Plaza Clara to hide different imatges of spring and we had to relate a sentence with a picture : For example ;
This insect has got spots, ( a ladybug),
This animal has got long ears, ( a rabbit)
(This is a delicious fruit ( strawberry) etc etc etc.....
One thing is a description of a picture to guess. Today we made questions .
One student had to create an item of spring out of some bread dough. The others had to make questions to guess what it was. And create the same figure.
Examples of questions we used ; Is it an animal ? Does it fly ? Can you eat it ? Is it big ? etc etc.
And of course at the end of the class the students wanted to make a pizza ! It was Fun !!!!
P4 Fly, Fly Butterfly ,

P4 Clothes
Hi all !!
With P4 we worked on the topic Clothes.
We made a stick puppet and had to use sentences like ; I've got some trousers, I've got a shirt . I've got some boots.
We sang a song about clothes , coloured a dress , a skirt , trousers ,a t-shirt, a hat, socks and shoes.
And we used the sentences ; Put on your hat...Take off your hat !
2nd and The hungry wolf
Hi All !!
With 2nd graders we worked on a story. We used the inspiration of the story Little red riding hood .
But we changed the original story. For example there are two sisters in this story .
Mum is telling them to go to grandma to bring delicious cookies. Grandma is very old.
In the forest they find beautiful flowers. Then there is the wolf ....? Where are you going girls ??? We are going to grandma.......The wolf is very hungry and runs to grandma`s house and eats grandma and gets into grandma's bed.
When the girls arrive they say: Grandma ..What big ears you have...Wolf; To hear you better
What big eyes you have ! Wolf ; To see you better
What a big mouth you have Wolf ; to eat you !!!!
Help Help.......Then the strong hunter appears with his gun and shoots the wolf. Grandma comes out of the belly of the wolf ... Everybody is happy !!!
1B Group having a break

P5-C - News since the last entry, with lockdowns in between!
Dear families:
It's been a very particular period of time, especially because of the pandemic. However, we keep on the track with English, of course. Here I want to share the latest news in terms of activities.
We have worked on two main areas. First, we saw the weather, months of the year and seasons. most of it was through online lessons, as you probably remember. Then, we did another area about letters and alphabet, with a special care with pronunciation, calligraphy and building up vocabulary..
At present we are starting a new project about numbers and shapes.
We'll keep you informed!
Jordi
1A - New topics since last entry, with lockdown in between!
Dear families!
It has been a period full of changes since the last entry, especially because of Covid-19 and the unexpected lockdowns. In spite of that, I'd like to share with you all what we have been working on, at class and online since then.
We have done two great topics. The first was related to the weather, months of the year and seasons. The second one, which we have just finished this week, is about the letters. Not only about the alphabet itself but also about its pronunciation, students' writing skills and building up new vocabulary.
At present we are starting a new project about numbers and basic maths operations, making use of all sorts of objects, like shapes or other objects of everyday life.
Looking forward to contacting you soon again!
Jordi
