Spring Compositions

This week we have been working with material from nature. It was lovely the way they used it.

The non structured material gives a lot of creation possibilities. They created their fantastic worlds and imagined all kind of stories, while we took advantage practising different nouns, plants vocabulary and adjectives. Go and look their faces, they were so concentrate doing it! The result was awesome.

3rd grade - groups C and A

Hello again,

Since last week we have been watching a movie at class. It is a good activity to get used to listening English pronunciation in a fun and entertaining way. Moreover, it was a promised that I made them a few days ago.

On one hand, group A has been watching a movie entitled "Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang", 2010 by Susanna White. Summarizing, it's the story of a family who lives at the English countryside during World War II. Miss McPhee is a nanny who will teach 5 educative lessons to 5 children, who are a bit naughty.

On the other hand, group C has been watching a movie entitled The Bourne Ultimatum, 2007, by Paul Greengrass. It is an action movie about Jason Bourne a ruthless CIA agent.

It is planned to finish it off next week.

3rd grade - group C The indefinite article in English: A / AN

Hello to everybody,

Last week we focused on learning what the indefinite article is, what it is used for, and how to do it properly.

After a brief explanations about the topic, they did a worksheet in which they had to match some pictures up with the right word, A or AN.

The activity was quite well and they did a great job! Besides that, it let us remember some vocabulary worked a few weeks ago.

1st grade - group D - The indefinite article in English: A / AN

Hi to everybody,

Last week we focused on working about the indefinite article in English: A / AN. By using a fun worksheet in which they matched a list of animals up with the right word, A or AN. All pupils certainly did a great task and they were able to understand what the purpose of the activity was.

An announcement for1st grade groups

Hello to everybody again,

An announcement addressed to you, parents:

Next week, 1st grade students will be watching a movie, entitled "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", as a way to introduce them to vocabulary of sea and jungle animals. After that we will also do an activity to strenghten pupils' understanding of the movie in which  painting and colouring will be required.

6th grade Inside Pia....1.2.3 action......

Hello ! We made a video inspired by the movie Inside Out ....It took some weeks to make the decisions and a lot of improvisation to film the video.  But we did it  !   Marta, Marina, Iona, Anna and Martina did a great job.   Regarding to our emotions we can have a different reaction to a situation.  Here you can see the result........ Thanks to Tanit (camara)  and the friends from  6th grade (extras).

3rd A & C - GEOGRAPHY. Putting name to our world in English: oceans, continents, and countries and capitals.

Hi, again!

This week we have worked on Geography; we have learnt how to spell its most important features: oceans, continents and countries. We have focused especially on Europe: its capitals and its position on the map.

Concretely, we have done two worksheets. The first one consisted of filling in a blank map, using the words learnt like: Pacific Ocean, North America, Antarctica or Equator... The second worksheet was focused on countries, learning where they were on the map and how their capitals were called. It was also a good occasion to revise prepositions of place, which we had done before Easter.

Although I understand it is good and useful for them to get used to knowing the world in English; however, it might have been a difficult activity for some of them(and even boring, maybe). That's why I appreciate they were able to pay attention and worked hard all the session long. So, congratulations!

1st D & B - MAKE YOUR OWN MASK IN THREE STEPS!

Keeping posting information about our activities at class! Apart from the activity related to senses, we have done handicrafts: we made a mask in three steps, cutting, pasting and colouring.

1st grade - group 1B - MY 5 SENSES

Hi, again!

This week we have worked around our senses: sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. By making sentences, which connected these words with their parts of the body and by playing at an educative video game.

It was also a good occasion to remind vocabulary about parts of the body (eyes, nose, tongue, finger and ear), which had been seen a few weeks ago.

We have bern learning practicing and playing with different opposite concepts.

3rd Dragon Project

After Saint George's day we decided to create our owns dragons. They enjoyed a lot modeling them and were really concentrate in the process... Also they invented really nice names for the creations!

Now we are whatching a impressionant film about dragons: "How to train your dragon". The next activity will be to invent a short story about this incredible dragon world we are knowing.

Second grade creating a city...

Hello everybody !

Second grade is creating  a city. In couples they have to decide where  to put the diferent things .. like ;the school,the prison,the supermarket,a lake .,the church ,the traffic light etc. Because we are using velcro they can decide to change the city.  They are realy creative!! At the end they have to present their city .

Hello everybody ...last week we were still with the topic of saint George.  We did theatre and sang a song. (ps it's my song so it's not on you tube )

We dressed ourselves up like st George, the king, the queen , the dragon or the princess.
We killed the dragon  over and over again.

As well we played with a shield and balloons with  pictures using  the vocabulary of St George...like the castell , the king the dragon etc .

And because dragons are realy interesting we continue a bit with this topic.....making a dragon and singing the song  ;  Happy dragon ( you tube)

P4 & P5 Saint George and The Spring

We celebrated​ Saint George, telling the great legend of "George and the dragon". We made some craft roses and played as the story characters, been dragons, princesses or knights.

Know we are starting to work on spring, this days a rainy spring... We are learning this song:
